"My paintings begin as an idea, a mood, or a question. I look to nature as a starting point; a leaf, a tree, a rock, to express myself through forms, colors and lines. Often the painting will move further and further from realism and will become more abstracted and exaggerated. Some of my themes encompass creativity and femininity, the cycle of life, time and mortality. I am interested in expressing the weight and breadth of time, human relationships, and the awe-inspiring forces of nature."
