In their own words

"As a self described "layerist collage painter", I use torn magazine paper as my "palette of paint" working the image by adding and subtracting tonal values of paper until I achieve the desired effect. Leaving the distinctive rough edges of the collage visible adds to the layered feeling of the artwork. I am fascinated at how words, phrases, and imagery from the magazines appear almost magically between the torn edges, as if they are partly the creator of the art piece. It is the process of making visually pleasing or intellectually stimulating artwork that is most personally fulfilling for me as an artist; likewise it is the process of experiencing a creative life as a woman, wife, mother, and daughter that is the most fulfilling for me in spirit."
